Herakles Knot Earrings

The Herakles or 'Hercules' knot symbolizes strength, unity, protection, and the cycle of life. It is also a symbol of love and marriage. In describing a 3rd to 2nd century BCE bracelet, the Metropolitan Museum of Art mentions that, according to the Roman writer Pliny, the Herakles knot could cure wounds and avert evil.
